Global routing security is an important pre-requisite to the continued growth of the Internet. The MANRS IXP Programme is another step on the way toward a globally robust and secure routing infrastructure.
Action 1: Prevent Incorrect Routing Information
TREX's route servers only accept routes registered in the RIPE Database or another IRR.
Action 2: Promote MANRS in the IXP Membership
TREX has a recurring theme of presentations relating to routing security in its member seminars.
Action 3: Protect the Peering Platform
The membership agreement explicitly prohibits non-IP traffic and internal routing or signaling protocols, such as CDP, VTP and OSPF, on the Unicast Peering VLAN.
Action 4: Facilitate Operational Communication
TREX operates a number of mailing lists to handle communications - operational and otherwise - between members. All TREX members have registered themselves in the PeeringDB.
Action 5: Provide Monitoring and Debugging Tools
TREX does not run its own route collectors or looking glasses, but a couple of our members that peer with everybody have these services publicly available. We make links available to these services.
