This service is for operators that wish to peer multicast traffic publicly with every other operator subscribing to this service. Actual peering is done using MBGP, PIM-SM and MSDP.

It is not necessary to set up BGP sessions with other members connected to this VLAN. It is enough to set up a session with the TREX IPv4 Multicast Route Server. Direct sessions between members are still recommended for redundancy.

The VLAN can be requested in native form without any encapsulation in a port, or encapsulated with IEEE802.1q.
